Al-Mudabbirat (Arranging Matters) الْمُدَبِّرَات

In review — pending scholar verification

The fifth oath of Surah An-Naziʿat (79:5) — angels who arrange the affairs of creation by Allah's command.

Overview

Al-Mudabbirāt (Arabic: الْمُدَبِّرَات) is the fifth oath in Surah An-Nāziʿāt (79:5): "And those who arrange [each] matter." Classical commentators (al-Ṭabarī, Ibn Kathīr) explain this as the angels who execute and arrange the operational affairs of creation by Allah's command — the descent of decrees, the distribution of provisions, the climate, the lives and deaths of creatures.

The Arabic noun tadbīr means "management, arrangement, deliberate ordering." Allah Himself is named al-Mudabbir ("the Arranger") in His attributes; the angels are His mediating agencies in this domain.
