Exodus of Bani Isra'il خُرُوج بَنِي إِسْرَائِيل

In review — pending scholar verification

The departure of Bani Isra'il from Egypt under Musa's leadership — the parting of the sea, the destruction of Pharaoh's army, recounted in multiple Quranic surahs as a foundational sign.

Overview

The Exodus (Arabic: خُرُوج بَنِي إِسْرَائِيل) is the departure of Bani Isra'il from Egypt under Musa's leadership. The Quran narrates the event multiple times: Allah commanded Musa to lead the Israelites by night; Pharaoh pursued with his army; when Bani Isra'il reached the sea, Musa was instructed to strike the water with his staff — and the sea parted, forming dry paths through which they crossed; Pharaoh's army followed and was drowned when the sea closed over them.
